Winter Camellia

Winter Camellia
Acrylics on 6"x6"x3/4" stretched canvas

I love having a garden with colors even in winter. Recently, my Camellia bushes have budded. They are alone, the only stars in the show. I bet the spring flowers wish they had this kind of solo performance. I've added a photograph below.

Abby

Acrylics on 6"x6"x3/4" stretched canvas

My husband and I dropped off a car for a sweet lady's grandson at her home. She greeted us sweetly along with a wonderful fried chicken lunch with mashed potatoes and biscuits. So nice of her. This painting of her dog, Abby, will accompany my thank you note.

Opie

Opie
Acrylics on 12"x12" stretched canvas

A friend asked me to paint Opie for his wife for Christmas. I really enjoyed getting to know Opie. Hope to meet him in person. This was painted from a favorite photograph.

Gandawg

Gandawg
Acrylics on 6"x6"x3/4" stretch canvas

Someone asked me to paint this for a friend. I rarely laugh while I am painting but I did with this one. This sweet dog connected with me. He looks so like my favorite fictional character, Gandalf of The Lord of the Rings. I fell in love! I hope I have the opportunity to meet him and see what magic he/she possesses.

The Yellow Flower

The Yellow Flower
Acrylics w/ acrylic skins on 6"x6"x3/4" stretched canvas

These paintings have been so relaxing to create. The focus is more on color than subject. That suits me fine. Painting representationally is very tedious and stressful. I find doing one of these florals relaxes me before going into the tougher stuff. It's not that it is easier. It's not. Just more imaginative and freer.
