Flowers from Connie's Garden

Flowers from Connie's Garden
Acrylics on 8"x6" flat canvas panel

I painted this from Connie Winter's garden. She invited the Plein Air Buds out of the blue. Love it! She is so gracious and an excellent and successful artist. She said we could come over anytime to paint. Sweet.

Walkway by Snooky's

Walkway by Snooky's
Oil on 6"x8" flat canvas panel

This is a small landscape study done by one of my favorite restaurants, Snooky's. It is located in Little River, SC, real close to the NC border. If ever you go there, definitely try the Ahi appetizer. I eat it as an entree! After all the eating, go out for a lovely walk by the intercoastal waterway.

Flower From a Pot in My Front Yard

Flower From a Pot in My Front Yard
Acrylic on 8"x10" flat canvas panel

Wish I knew the name of this flower. I bought a bunch of them from Pike Nursery in Charlotte. I never notice names. Anyway, it grows on a very long, skinny stem which I did not feel like painting. I just love the petals.

Landsford Canal State Park Spider Lilies

Landsford Canal State Park Spider Lilies
Acrylics on 6"x8" flat canvas panel

Went out to Landsford Canal State Park with the Plein Air Buds and my acrylics yesterday. I parked myself by the edge of the water where bugs, brush and branches attacked from all sides. I brought my can of bug spray and used it so much there might be some lingering odors from it on the painting. The spider lilies come out in May and disappear in mid June. Glad I caught them. Last year heavy rains washed them away before I could see them. So glad it worked out for this outing.

Prelude to Tropical Storm Ana

Prelude to Tropical Storm Ana
Oil on 6"x8" flat canvas panel

I was at Sunset Beach, NC, when TS Ana struck the coast. It was loud and scary. I painted this right before it hit. The weather was calm and breezy. Yeah, the proverbial calm.
